Strategic Advisor

 

Bernd Wiedemann joined the Advisory board of UST Global in 2014. Mr. Wiedemann is currently also serving on the board of Delphi Automotive PLC, a General Representative of Volkswagen AG and a Senior Advisor at IAV GmbH. He is also a professor at the Berlin Institute of Technology.

 


Mr. Wiedemann s extensive Automotive engineering expertise and his global Supply Chain management experience enable him to provide engineering, product development, industry, and leadership expertise to the Board.
A 37-year employee of Volkswagen (1971-2008), Mr. Wiedemann held senior executive positions including Chief Executive Officer, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Truck Division (MAN, Scania and Volkswagen Trucks) in Wolfsburg, Germany (1995-2007), Executive Vice President, Volkswagen do Brazil, (1994-1995); Executive Vice President, Autolatina – A joint venture between Volkswagen and Ford for the South American market (1992-1994) and Director, Passenger Car and Commercial Vehicle Development (1989-1992). He led many programs in powertrain and diesel engine development for Volkswagen. Under his leadership many new manufacturing and sourcing processes including innovative plants with supplier integration and supply chain optimization, new customer focused sales processes and marketing concepts were implemented.

 


Mr. Wiedemann joined IAV GmbH in 2008 after retiring from Volkswagen. IAV GmbH is a leading provider of engineering services to the automotive industry based in Germany.

 


Mr. Wiedemann became a member of the board of managing directors of Delphi Automotive PLC in 2010, a leading global supplier of automotive technologies, components and electronics for automotive, commercial vehicles and trucks. In this capacity he is focusing on technology, engineering, product development and production, industry and business development.

 


Mr. Wiedemann received a Master s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Hannover Technical University, a Doctorate from Brandenburg Technical University in Automotive Powertrain and is currently also a professor at the Berlin Institute of Technology.
