MORE THAN 1200 MEN AND WOMEN EMPLOYEES WORKING AT INFOPARK PARTICIPATED IN THE TOURNAMENT

Kochi, India, May 10, 2015: UST Global, a leading digital technology services company that provides powerful solutions for Global 1000 companies, concluded the Infopark edition of its annual inter-corporate football tournament, GOAL, on Sunday 10th May.


The tournament witnessed participation from 70 teams from companies based at the Infopark. 38 teams competed in the men's category, while 32 teams contested under the women's and Super Pair (mixed doubles) categories. In the finals played at the Thrikkakkara Municipal Stadium, TCS defeated IBS(2-0) to win the men’s championship, while Xerox outplayed Vi Point (4-2) to lift the women’s trophy. Suyati beat IBS (4-2) in a keenly-contested match to emerge winners in the Super Pair category.


Brighty Sara from Vi Point was adjudged the tournament's best Woman player, while Libin from TCS became the best Men’s player. Golden Ball for Best Goal Keeper (Men) went to Adarsh from Xerox.

GOAL 2015, which kicked-off on March 28, involved 44 matches in the men’s category, whereas the women's and Super Pair categories involved 54 matches each.


The grand finale of the tournament concluded with a gala ceremony wherein two young football stars from the state, Raja and Gayathri, were the chief guests. Raja, who is a member of the Kerala state junior football team, was previously saved from a begging racket by the police, and Gayathri, who is the captain of the Ernakulam football team, was rescued from street circus gang as a child. They both had received huge support from the orphanage Janaseva Sisubhavan.
